Hybrid (offline+online) Session “PAINFUL CHANGES IN RUSSIAN EDUCATION”
International Scientific Online Conference WAR AND WORLD: THE OBVIOUS AND THE PROBABLE
Dear colleagues, you are welcome to participate in Hybrid (offline+online) session “PAINFUL CHANGES IN RUSSIAN EDUCATION” of the international academic conference “War and World: The Obvious and the Probable,” scheduled for March 4, 2025, at Ruhr University (44780, Bochum, Universitätsstraße 150, GB 5/160) and on the Zoom platform of the "Academic Bridges" Laboratory.
Co-organizers: the “Academic Bridges” Lab, Osteuropa-Kolleg NRW, Ruhr University Bochum, the Boris Nemtsov Foundation, and the Ideas for Russia project.
Three years of war have had a significant impact not only on the warring countries but also on the political, economic, and social systems of neighboring—and even more distant—states. Substantial changes have occurred in the scientific and educational spheres linked to institutions in countries
involved in the military conflict.
During the session, we will discuss both the obvious and potential consequences of the war for education and science in Russia, Ukraine, and other countries, as well as explore possible ways to overcome the difficult situations and challenges faced by educators and students.
We invite university faculty, scholars, researchers, PhD students, journalists, and members of civil society organizations to participate in person, either as speakers or audience members. Due to limited seating, we encourage early registration.
